June Plum

June Plum

June plum, also known as Spondias dulcis, is a tropical fruit tree native to Southeast Asia but widely grown in other tropical regions around the world. The fruit is known by many names, including "golden apple," "ambarella," and "hog plum." It is oval-shaped and varies in color from light green when unripe to yellow when ripe. The fruit has a crisp texture and a sweet-tart flavor, which is refreshing and slightly pineapple-like. June plum can be eaten fresh or used in preserves, juices, and sauces. The tree itself is a fast-growing species with large, compound leaves and small white flowers.

USDA Growing Zone: 9-11
